While school holiday, they have an activity for kids, Star Card member can bring along a kid age between 5 to 8 years old to join the "Kids Cooking Class to make Xiao Long Bao (小笼包), it was organised by Toys''R''Us and 鼎泰丰, I assume my son would like to go.
I and Kok Bee (2nd sister) took leave (normally we will take leave while school holiday, to bring the kids and stay at mum hs for few days), we brought our kids to participate this activity.
It was on 7 June 2011, 10am to 12 noon, it is conducted in mandarin and every kids have to bring along their own apron.

We almost late, luckily it still haven't start when we reach there.

Briefly tell you what is the process:
1st of all, 鼎泰丰prepare 面团 (一条一条), they teach how to 捏一粒一粒, after kids捏得一粒一粒, 鼎泰丰 staff will put it into a plastic (不要了), 鼎泰丰 staff will take out their correct 面团 (一粒一粒), 2ndly, they teach how to 将一粒一粒弄成薄皮, after that they will put all the wrong 薄皮 into a plastic (不要了), and take out their correct 薄皮, 3rdly, they teach how to 包馅料, we would not eat the 小笼包 that we 包, we will eat what 鼎泰丰 make. This class really waste a lot of 面粉. What to do, kids don’t know ma.

Do you know how to eat 小笼包 correctly?
Normally we will put the whole 小笼包 in our mouth, because it is not big, end up with the soup burning our mouth (too hot).
Below is the correct way:
1st, lift up the bao in a spoon,
2nd, open a small hole of the bao using your chopstick,
3rd, let the soup come out, drink the soup,
4th, put some ginger on top,
finally, eat the whole bao,
below is the way to teach us how to eat 小笼包 in Chinese, organiser make it fun, we read it loud together.
